Description
Group of 3, includes one individual mola and 1 pair (still attached at side seam) of hand reverse applique and appliqué construction throughout, each worked in two layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 14.5 x 18 inches (each panel)
Pair: Eight-section grid composition of nested triangular spirals or labryrinth pattern radiating from a central point, worked in orange on a red ground with black channel outlines. The tessellated triangular spiral is one of the most traditional Guna geometric motifs, here rendered with strong bilateral symmetry and rickrack trim along the upper border.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 18.25 x 22.5 inches
Single panel: Repeating diamond grid enclosing interlocking cross and labyrinth forms, worked in red on a dark ground with cream channel outlines, bordered by a multicolored zigzag appliqué band and a printed cotton yoke. The allover lattice composition with cross-shaped center motifs at each intersection reflects a traditional Guna design of considerable complexity and visual density.

Condition report:
Wear, fading, discoloration, spots, loose stitching and loss of fabric/applique. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
