Description
Vintage 1980 Presidents Embroidered Quilt measures 94 by 100 inches. It is comprised of 42 blocks, 12 by 12 inches, set straight, 6 by 7, with 1.25 inch blue sashing and gold corner crosses. There is a 7.5 inch red and white pieced striped border. It is hand embroidered, machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Medium loft polyester batting and a blue solid reverse. The edge is finished with an applied blue fabric binding, by machine. Each of the blocks feature the portrait of our first 40 Presidents starting with George Washington and ending with Ronald Reagan. Each block also includes the years they served, a facsimile of their signature, and the order number that they were elected. The bottom right block features an American flag and the bottom left features embroidery of the Presidential Seal. There is an eagle hand embroidered in each of the gold cross intersections in black thread. This quilt was published on page 24 of Sue Reich’s book “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic.” There is a sleeve on the reverse for hanging.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with a few small spots. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $35 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
