Description
Antique c1900 Twist and Turn Quilt made from A variety of velvet, silk, brocade and jacquard fabrics. It measures 77 by 74 inches. The Twist and Turn pattern is In a bars arrangement with 7.5 inch pieced bars separated by 2.5 inch black silk bars and inner border with embroidery. There is a 5 inch ice cream cone border on all 4 sides. It is hand pieced and hand embroidered. Thin cotton batting and a pre-quilted gold sateen reverse. The edge is finished with a variegated thread buttonhole appliqué stitch along the scalloped edge. This quilt was collected in Pennsylvania.
Condition report:
It is in fair condition with wear to the black fabric silk fabric and other fabric deterioration.
