Description
Antique Victorian Crazy Quilt along with an antique needle case. The quilt measures 56 by 74 inches. It is comprised of 12 blocks, 18 by 18 inches, set straight, 3 by 4. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand tied. Thin cotton batting and a large scale floral cotton print reverse. The edge is finished with a scrappy velvet applied binding. The quilt incorporates several fantastic motifs including umbrellas, fans, Lerer, a leaf with a grasshopper, a chair and table, flowers, Kate Greenaway designs, boot, sneaker, bugs, spider in a web, and much more. Also note the 1886 Annapolis Exposition Building Erected commemorative ribbon. Every seam is hand embroidered in different colored threads and a multitude of stitches. It is in good condition with only a couple of fabrics starting to deteriorate and an and one discoloration. Along with an antique needle case, red low pile velvet with a black bird, and includes several needles. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
