Description
2 Vintage c1920s Quilts includes a Colonial Revival Oak Leaf with a circular and bud motif Quilt. It measures 83 by 73 inches. It is comprised of 9 blocks, 20 by 20 inches, set straight, 3 by 3, with 5 appliqué Oakleaf blocks and 4 alternating white solid squares. There is a 3 inch solid purple inner border and 8 inch solid white outer border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green fabric binding. It is in poor condition with overall toning, discolorations, spots, and a hole in the center area. And a c1930 Basket Quilt measuring 53 by 80 inches. Comprised of 32 blocks, 9 by 9 inches, set on point and staggered, 4 by 6. There is a 2 inch bright pink sashing and setting triangles and a 2 inch white border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge appears to have been replaced and borders possibly cut down. In fair condition with one green basket fabric starting to deteriorate and several small spots.
