Description
2 Antique Early 20th Century Quilts including a Ghost Eagles with Princess Feather center medallion quilt, 77×80″. Believed to be from New Hampshire. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and off white. The edge is finished with an applied white cotton binding. It is in poor condition with overall toning, spots, small worn areas and the Eagles head and tail, and half the center plumes, have faded to a neutral color most likely the results of a fugitive dye. Along with an antique c1915 9 Patch Quilt with Indigo print fabrics. It measures 46×84″. It is comprised of 45 blocks, 8 by 8 inches, set straight, 5 by 9, with 22 pieced blocks and alternating indigo print squares. There is a 2 inch off white.print inner border and 8 inch indigo print outer. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by machine. Also is in poor condition with overall fading, toning, spots, edge wear small worn area inner border.
