Description
Antique c1880 Wool Challis Star of Bethlehem measuring 73 by 74 inches. The star is comprised of a variety of print cotton, solid, and stripe, and plaid wool challis fabrics. The star measures about 59 by 59 inches. There is a 7 inch brown and white gingham border. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a woven plaid reverse. The edge is finished with and applied binding in the peak paisley wool challis fabric. It is in good condition with only minor discolorations and 1 small hole. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
