Description
Antique c1900 Chicken Scratch Quilt measuring 77×78″. It is comprised of 113 blocks, 6.5×6.5″, set on point and staggered, 8 by 15, with off white solid setting triangles, and 3″ solid tan vertical borders. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is medium loft cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with and applied print fabric binding. It is in poor condition with overall toning, fabric deterioration, fading and other discolorations. Believed to be a Southern quilt. From an Alexandria, VA collector.
