Description
Vintage c1940 Hole in the Barn Door Quilt Measuring 78 x 96 inches. It is comprised of 20 blocks 14.5 x 14.5 inches, set straight, 4 by 5, with 3 inch green print sashing and red print cornerstones, and 6.25 inch green print border. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Thick cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front. And applied by hand. It is in good condition with one small hole in the border. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
