Description
Vintage c1940 Double Wedding Ring measures 90×90″. Comprised of 25 interlocking rings, 20″ in diameter, set straight 5 by 5, with partial rings along the perimeter and corners. There is a 4.5″ chrome yellow print border, the same fabric used to set the rings. It is hand pieced, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a pink print applied binding. It is in good condition with a few large spots. Very Graphic! There is a sleeve along the back edge for hanging. This quilt can be seen on page 83 of “Vintage Quilts” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
