Description
Vintage c1940 Double Wedding Ring measures 69×79″. Comprised of 42 interlocking rings, 14.5″ in diameter, set straight 6 by 7. There is a 1.5″ pieced print inner border and 1″ off white outer border. It is hand pieced, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a chrome yellow print applied binding. It is in good condition with some bleeding to an orange solid fabric. Many of the fabrics are older than the c1940s, this came from a deep scrap bag! There is a sleeve along the back edge for hanging and signed by Bobbie Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
