Description
Antique c1850 Applique Quilt with Vine and Vessel Border measuring 76 by 83 inches. 9 hand appliquéd red and green floral motifs are arranged in the center with a vine and vessel border along all 4 sides. It is not arranged by blocks, but rather strategic placement on the white ground. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white fabric binding. It is in fair condition with several spots, green fabric is starting to turn blue, and the Turkey red print is deteriorating. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
