Description
Antique c1910 Medallion Style Sampler Quilt measuring 73×81″. It is comprise of a Sawtooth Star Center 24.5 by 24.5 inches followed by a 5 inch mourning print frame with 9 patch corners in Turkey red and cheddar. It is followed by a 6.5 inch pink stripe vertical frame with 4 miscellaneous blocks making up the horizontal frame. There is a 7.5 inch pieced inner border using red and shirting partial Wheel of Fortune blocks and 6 inch outer border using a variety of plaids, chambray, and stripe fabrics. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with a few spots and discolorations. The quilt is believed to be from Pennsylvania. From an Alexandria, VA collector. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
