Description
Antique c1920 Marie Webster Dogwood Basket Quilt measuring 84×89″. It is comprised of 4 blocks, 24 by 24 inches with baskets of dogwood flowers, set straight, 2 x 2, with 12 inch sashing and center cornerstone with additional dogwood flowers, and a 12 inch border along 3 sides with an undulating vine and dogwood flowers. There is an additional 4 inch off white border along one side. The block and flower arrangement gives the quilt a medallion style arrangement. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. The hand quilting in this quilt is absolutely stunning. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied pink fabric binding. It is in good condition with a few discolorations. From an Alexandria, VA collector. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
