Description
Antique c1900 Rocky Road to Kansas Quilt measuring 72×78″. It is comprised of 25 Star blocks, 13×13″, and 5 partial blocks, set straight, 5 by 5, with a 4 inch neon print border. The claret print setting diamonds gives the quilt a secondary design. It is hand pieced and hand quilted in a Baptist Fan overall motif. There is a medium loft cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with one brown fabric deteriorating in several places and minor fading. The quilt is believed to be from either Virginia or West Virginia and was purchased from Barbara Snead.
