Description
Pair of Antique Ethnic Embroidery Fragments. The group includes 1 beautifully embroidered skirt fragment featuring heavy silk embroidery in geometric flourishing patterns in shades of maroon, olive green, white, and blue on a black embroidered ground on a cotton canvas base. This fragment could possibly be attributed to the Greek isles and measures 40” long by 14” long and is in good condition with minor fading to the green silk embroidery. Also included is a large panel of Czech Embroidery featuring vertical bars of colorful flowers embroidered silk thread in shades of red, claret, fuchsia, black, yellow, white, and green on a woven cotton ground. This may possibly be an unfinished piece as it consists of 2 separate panels joined at the center. It measures 41” long by 15.5” wide. It is in good/fair condition with some toning, fading to areas of the green silk, and a few spots. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
