Description
Antique c1920 Double Irish Chain Quilt in blue and white. it measures 78 x 79 inches. It is comprised of 121 blocks, 6 x 6 inches, with 61 checkerboard blocks and 60 alternating blocks. They are set straight 11 by 11, with a 1.5 inch inner solid blue border and a 5.5 inch white solid outer border. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd (the blue corner squares in the alternating blocks), and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied blue solid cotton binding, by hand. It is in good condition with some minor fading and a few small spots. From a Wisconsin Collector.
