Group of 5 molas, includes a matched pair along with 3 individuals, with reverse appliqué, appliqué, and hand embroidery, worked in 3–4 layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1970s, 17 x 20 inches
Red ground depicting four large quadruped animals — likely tapirs or similar jungle mammals — arranged in two stacked rows, each rendered in charcoal, teal, and multicolored channel work with embroidered sunburst eye details, and surrounded throughout by a dense field of multicolored embroidered dash and square elements. Four layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 16 x 19 inches
Matched pair on three layers with red ground featuring two large iguanas or lizards, wearing hats, stacked vertically as the primary subject, rendered in charcoal and green channel work with densely filled multicolored interior bar details, flanked by smaller lizard figures in the margins.

Three layers on red ground featuring a large flying ship or winged creature with a small human figure depicted on or interacting with it, the entire composition densely filled with embroidered dot, star, crescent moon, and spiral motifs, with flanking scroll elements and a dense multicolored dash border throughout. .

Worked in 3 layers on red ground with a bold curvilinear shaped composition enclosing abstracted fish figures rendered in black, orange, yellow, teal, and blue channel work with sawtooth border detailing, framed top and bottom by horizontal bands of multicolored rectangular appliqué elements.

Condition report:

Poor condition, each mola has extensive holes, fading, wear etc. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
