Group of 3 molas with hand reverse appliqué and appliqué construction throughout, each worked in 3-4 layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 15 x 20.5 inches
Three repeating stylized standing figures arranged in a row on a red ground, each with S-spiral head elements and horizontal bar-filled torsos, outlined in orange and teal with multicolored embroidered dash accents throughout. Multi-figure compositions of this type are characteristic of traditional Guna narrative or ceremonial imagery.

Worked in 3 layers with orange ground organized into a 4×4 grid of individual square compartments, each containing a distinct scrolled or spiral motif in a different color combination including cobalt blue, yellow, white, pink, and green. Hand and machine stitching.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1970s, 16 x 17 inches
Burgundy ground with large interlocking angular forms — arrows, chevrons, and cross-derived shapes — executed in layers 4 of lime green, orange, and black with characteristic sawtooth edge detailing throughout. The bold angular vocabulary and sawtooth borders are deeply rooted in traditional Guna design, creating dynamic visual tension through sharp geometric contrast.

Extensive wear, fading, discoloration, spots, loose threads/applique and holes. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
