Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1970s

(1) Guna geometric cross mola worked in three layers of reverse appliqué. Large-scale concentric cross and maze design on a black ground with magenta and yellow channels. Dense, fully filled composition with bold graphic impact. Yellow rickrack trim, orange appliqué band, and pink cotton band at the hem.

(2)Guna geometric Greek key mola worked in two layers of reverse appliqué. Allover grid of small square spiral motifs arranged in quadrants on a red ground with black channels. Exceptionally fine, dense hand-stitching throughout with intricate micro-cut spirals repeated across the entire panel.

Condition report:
Overall wear and fading on both molas. Pink has a few small spots, Red has a small hole. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
