Reverse appliqué and appliqué mola panel with hand embroidery, featuring a large central dragon-like creature with an elongated sinuous body filled with densely packed triangular patterns. The dragon displays distinctive head features with teeth and eyes, while its body curves dramatically across the composition. The creature is accompanied by smaller fish forms and geometric maze-like patterns that fill the surrounding space. The design demonstrates exceptional contrast using only red, black, and white, creating bold graphic impact through the interplay of positive and negative space. Worked in two layers of cotton in red and white, with precise hand-stitching throughout maintaining clean edges on the intricate triangular fill patterns and curved serpentine forms. The simplified color palette emphasizes the dramatic sculptural quality of the design.
