Description
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s–1970s

Reverse appliqué, appliqué, and hand-embroidered mola panel depicting seven elongated Christmas stocking arranged in two registers — three above and four below — each suspended from a small hook, enclosed within a hexagonal multicolored border, executed in three layers of red, burgundy, and orange cotton. Six small dancing human figures with raised arms and embroidered X markings on their torsos populate the corners and perimeter. Each stocking interior is densely filled with polychrome slitwork in blue, yellow, pink, green, red, and purple, with decorative zigzag and wave embroidery accenting the bands.

Condition report:
Minor wear and fading consistent with age. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
