Description
Antique c1860 Pineapple Quilt measuring 78×96 inches. It is comprised of 42 blocks, 13.5 by 13.5 inches, set straight, 6 by 7. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green print binding. One corner are hand inked Hannah Northand Young 1864, with other names and years depicting possible owners over the quilt’s lifetime including Bertha Young Davis 1926, Percha L Davis 1931, and Ethel Demerjian (sp?) 1968. Blue dye is peeking out and a couple of areas in the green print, and the binding is turning yellow, evidence of a double process green, earlier than 1870.
Condition report:
It is in fair condition with overall toning, large spots and discolorations, a small hole, minor edge wear, and fading in some fabrics. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple quilts for your convenience and economy.
