Description
Antique c1890 Brilliant Star Quilt measuring 73 by 88 inches. It is comprised of hexagons, 1.5 inches along one side, set on point, with white and blue dot shirting triangles setting the design. Color print placement creates a diagonal line effect. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a Garibaldi red with black dot print reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red print binding, by hand. A great variety of fabric including browns, indigo, cheddar, mourning prints, claret and much more. Believed to have been made by Edith Edna Dowding Wood.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with several age discolorations and spots, some appear to be dye related, but all but one fabric appears to be intact. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple quilts for your convenience and economy.
