Description
Antique c1900 9 Patch Quilt in a Flying X Arrangement measuring 77 by 78 inches. It is comprised of 81 blocks, 7 by 7 inches, set straight, 9 by 9, with 41 9 patch blocks and 40 alternating red and green solid fabric quarter square triangle blocks. Fabric placement creates the Flying X arrangement. There is a red and green solid fabric triple border, 7.5 inches wide, with 9 patch cornerstones. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a floral print reverse, possibly circa 1940. The edge is finished with an applied solid green fabric binding. There is a label hand stitched to one corner. Label reads Elsie’s quilt from Grandma Klein. There is a sleeve on the reverse for hanging. Believed to be from Lancaster, PA.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with fading to the green fabric. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
