Description
Vintage c1950 Paradise Garden Quilt by Genevieve Odom of Fayette County, PA. The quilt measures 89×89″. Medallion style with 4 roses in the center with sprays of pink and purple flowers and green leaves, surrounded by a blue swag with pink roses. Each corner has a rose with vines of more colorful flowers and grapes overflowing along all 4 sides. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and solid blue reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green binding. This quilt pattern was popular from Rose Kretsinger but Rose copied it from another quilter, Lorraine Pine Eisfeller, who copied it from Ruth Finely’s Book, an 1857 quilt by Arsinoe Kelsey.
