Description
Antique c1880 Presidents Wreath Quilt Top measuring 84×84″. Chintz cotton leaves and Turkey red flowers and buds are applied to an off white cotton ground. It is comprised of 25 blocks, 16.5×16.5 inches, set straight, 5 by 5. It is machine pieced, and hand appliquéd. There is no batting but a white woven cotton textile has been applied to the back by machine. The reverse has red embroidered turkey tracks along the seams on the pieced sections along 2 sides There is no batting or quilting. There is a small Sotheby’s is tag attached to the front, possibly from a previous auction.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with overall toning and spots. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
