Antique 1880s Cabinet Card Album. This photo album contains 42 photographs that are a blend of cabinet cards and carte de vistes. The photos included primarily dates back to the 1880s with some being from the late 1870s and early 1890s. The subjects photographed are from all ages with babies, young children, adults, and some older people depicted. Ohio, Indiana, and other states in the country have their studios represented with this array of photographs. The photos from the 1870s have the photographer’s name and address printed small just below the image on the mounted board. These photographs were taken in studios as was common at the time. The photographs are mainly sepia toned. There are a few family portraits with most of the subjects being alone. None of the pages are attached to the spine and are loose instead. There are a few empty frames inside. The photographs show signs of age spots and toning due to their age. There is a silver fasten on the side of the photo album. The cover is a dark brown leather with embossing in geometrics and scroll work. There is significant wear on the binding with rips present. This photo album is a wonderful resource for those interested in 19th century photography, fashion of the past, archivists, or other general interests.
