The women are wearing the clothing typical of the 1890s with the young girls wearing white dresses. While there is one bride in a black wedding gown, we additionally see white gowns as well. The young boys who are photographed are given props such as books, rosaries, hats, and other objects as they stand near a table. The young girls are in similar positions as they stand, sit, or lean against chairs in their photographs. Each paper has a gold border of flowers that frames the photographs. The majority of the photos are from studios in Ohio. In the photographs with babies, their eyes are blurry due to possible movement. The photographs are a blend of sepia and black and white. The sepia photos were created with the albumen print process. The photos of the subjects are mounted onto cardboard which is them slid inside their respective frames in the photo album to give different shapes. On the reverse or bottom of many of the cards, the photographer’s name and address are printed in large, ornate cursive or they are embossed. The binding of the pages is loose but the pages are securely attached. The book cover is velvet with a brown and black hue that may have possibly been more vibrant in the past. There are brass scroll work motifs that are decorated along the front but has rusted with time. At the center of the front cover, there is an oval mirror with several spots and it is framed with gold. On the side, the book is secured with a hook flap that is a bit loose and can be adjusted. The pages have some toning and age spots which can be seen on the photographs as well. Small rips are present and some pages sticks out when the book is closed.
