Description
Antique Toilets on Linen. There are 2 1820s roller prints on linen. It is made from quilted fabric and it depicts columns with leaves, fruit, and branches wrapped around it. The columns or pillars are printed on and it towers throughout the piece. There is some toning and spotting on the piece. They are 19.25″x 40″ and 19″x 31″. Included as well is a late 18th century piece from about 1793 which is a French copperplate on linen. It is a toile de jouy and it is titled Homage de L’Amerique a la France which is America paying tribute to France. It is a fragment piece and it does not have a repeat. It is 23.5″x29″. There is a 1781 copperplate on line which is a Nantes toile. It is called L’Inauguration du Port de Cherbourg par Louis XVI or The Inauguration of the Port of Cherbourg by Louis XVI. It is a fragment and it is not a complete repeat. It features handmaidens rowing, King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette presumably at the top, ships, people of the royal court, and more figural depictions. The piece has some toning and spots. It is 15.25″x29″. Featured as well is an additional copperplate on linen. It has red toile fragments with ships, castles, and figures on it. The piece has some toning and a small hole.
