Description
Two Red South Asian Sarees. The lot consists of two red South Asian sarees. Featured are two South Asian sarees with one in red and tan with silver accents and the other one in burgundy and silver. The burgundy and silver saree is sheer and features small metallic silver flowers along the body of the saree. Each flower is in alignment with one another in cemented rows that are in place. The border of the saree is in the same metallic silver thread. It has paisleys, arrows, leaves, dots, and various other designs that are incorporated in the thick band. Metallic stripes are included as well on the saree alongside frayed fabric in burgundy, blue, and some white with the latter two serving as a contrast to the piece. Included as well is a tan and red saree with metallic silver embellishments that are featured. The saree features these colors in differing thickness but the center of the piece is a stark red. The silver decorations serve as a border for the colors and there are knotted threads in those same colors along the edges of the piece. The red dye has bled in several spots and there are some areas where the weaving is loose. It is in good/fair condition. Both pieces that are included have significant yardage present.
