Vintage c1930 Ruby McKim Bible Quilt measuring 63 by 79 inches it is comprised of 24 hand embroidered blocks depicting old testament Bible stories, 7.5 by 7.5 inches, set straight, 4 by 6, with 7.5 inch vertical sashing and 4 inch horizontal sashing. There is a 10 inch triple strip horizontal border along the top, 6 inch triple strip borders of blue white and blue along the other 3 sides. Hand embroidered, machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with only minor discoloration. Stories include Daniel and the lion, Eve with the Apple and serpent, Noah’s Ark, the woman at the well, Jacob’s ladder, Moses as a baby, Moses and the tablet, David and Goliath, and many more. The proceeds to the sale of this quilt will benefit mother of God of Princeton New Jersey fundraising efforts to finish the church basement to create a fellowship room.
