Description
Antique c1880 Grandmothers Pride Quilt measuring 79 by 89 inches. It is comprised of 30 blocks, 10.5 by 10.5 inches, set straight, 5 by 6, with 2.5 inch double blue stashing and pink cornerstones, and 8.5 inch red print border on 2 sides and 6.5 inch border on the other 2 sides. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a blue floral on white ground print reverse. The edge is finished with a double blue print binding. It is in good condition with just minor edge wear along one side. I believe the tops, minus the border to be from c1880, and the borders, backing and quilting were added later, possibly 1950.
