Description
Vintage Watermelon Quilt measuring 79 by 98 inches. It is comprised of 32 blocks, 11 by 11 inches, set on point and staggered, 4 by 5. There is a 1.5 inch black solid sashing, white setting triangles, and a red, white, and green 5 inch triple border, with 9 patch cornerstones. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red fabric binding, by machine. It is in good condition with minor fading, toning, spots, a small split by and as small repair. A very unique block, one which I have not seen before.
