Description
3 antique folding fans with feather accents. Includes: 1) Black mourning fan with ornate paper leaf with embossed silver scrollwork and hand colored vignettes of ladies socializing on either side, black marabou feather trim, carved bone guards and ribs with silver gilding, a mother-of-pearl rivet and a brass loop. Condition: toning on guards, some feathers missing, a cracked rib, and a cracked guard. Dimensions: 10 1/2 in x 19 in. 2) Black paper fan with hand stenciled Asian motifs, white thrush or warbler feather trim, wood guards and ribs with silver/gold stenciled details. Condition: wear and peeling to the leaf, wear at the fold lines, and a few feathers missing. Dimensions: 8 in x 15 in. 3) Hand-painted fabric fan depicting a child sitting near an outlook, white swan feather trim, wood guards and ribs with embossed silver details, a bone rivet, and a brass loop. Condition: discoloration to leaf, spots, toning, missing feathers, a missing rib chipped head. Dimensions: 10 in x 19 in.
