Description
Antique paper folding fan featuring decorative gold embossed foil paper with scenes of Venetian’s on gondolas and at recreation with hand painted accents on the front leaf. The reverse leaf features gold embossed architectural motifs and medallions. The fancifully carved/pierced bone guards and ribs have applied gold and silver tone accents. It is accented by a pink silk tassel with metallic gold tone accents and faux pearl beads. The fan shows slight discoloration on the guards and measures 11 1/2 in x 19 in. The lot also includes a wooden black lacquered box with hand painted Asian motifs. The box appears to be original to the fan and has general wear. Please see the photos for details.
