Description
Antique Chinese double-sided embroidered round silk hand fan with a black lacquered wood handle. The fan features an intricately embroidered panel on one side, and a hand painted panel on the other side. Both of the panels showcase colorful floral patterns, birds, and insects. The black lacquered wood handle and frame contain intricate carvings of birds and branches of pine that were once accented with gold paint and a partial remaining knotted cord. The fan is in fair condition with toning, spots, minor tears, fading, and slight embroidery loss to the embroidered side. The silk panels are pulling away from the frame in several areas. Measuring approximately 19 inches in total length, with the fan portion about 10 inches in diameter. Please see the photos for details. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
