Description
Vintage Bicentennial 1976 8 Pointed Star Quilt measuring 65×77″. Center white square with red 1976 machine appliqued, surrounded by red and blue 8 pointed star blocks with alternating blue print blocks, 6×6″. Machine pieced, machine appliquéd, hand and machine quilted. There is a 2.5 inch red solid border. There is a polyester batting and a wonderful Bicentennial fabric backing. It is in good condition with a few light faded areas. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. This quilt was published, page 169, in “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic” by Sue Reich, noted author, historian, and quilt appraiser.
