Description
Vintage Bicentennial Star Quilt measuring 80×100″ with label on the back by Kerry Foust, St Christopher Circle. This quilt was designed by the Bicentennial Commission partnered by B&B Needlecrafts of Memphis TN. It is comprised of 20 blocks, 16.5 by 16.5 inches, set straight, 4 by 5, with 1.5 inch solid blue sashing, cornerstones, and border. It is hand appliquéd, machine pieced, and hand quilted. Thin batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with a few small spots. This quilt was published, page 172, in “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic” by Sue Reich, noted author, historian, and quilt appraiser.
