Description
Antique c1900 Scherenschnitte Quilt in red and white, measures 61 by 77 inches. Comprised of 6 blocks, 16.5 by 16.5 inches, set straight, 2 by 3, with 2.5 inch flying geese sashing and inner border, followed by a 4.25 inch white border, a 2 inch flying geese border and a 4 inch white outer border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back and applied by hand. It is in good condition with some spots, toning, and other discolorations. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
