Description
Antique c1890 Mosaic Hexagon Quilt measuring 73 by 80 inches. It is comprised of 1.25 inch hexagons in a variety of brown prints, shirting, Garibaldi red prints, and more. The rosettes all have a double pink or reddish print center or orange print with 2 rounds of other prints, and arranged up against each other with no path separation. It is hand pieced, and hand tied extensively in the center of each hexagon and at each intersection with a red Perl cotton (Congo red has faded in several). There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a red print fabric. Condition is poor with fading, large areas of staining, discoloration, and edge wear. And some fabric deterioration. Also some conservation noted. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
