Description
Antique c1880 Cypress Variation Quilt measuring 75 by 75 inches. It is comprised of 41 blocks, 9 by 9 inches, set on point, 5 by 5 and staggered. The quilt uses partial blocks as setting triangles and there is a 5.5 inch indigo with white dot print. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a brown print reverse. The edge is finished with an applied brown print fabric binding. It is in good condition with minor discolorations. The staggered setting creates a secondary block design. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
