Description
2 Antique c1880s Double Irish Chain Quilts. Includes a c1880 Double Irish Chain in green and heavily faded yellow measuring 82″ x 84″. It is machine pieced and hand quilted with a thin cotton batting and white cotton reverse and binding. It is in fair condition with heavy fading, stains, and storage discoloration. Also includes a c1880 pink and green Double Irish Chain quilt measuring 76″ x 76″. Hand pieced and hand quilted with cotton batting. It is in poor condition with heavy wear, frayed edges and many large holes. The chains are comprised of pink and green prints and the ground in a beige print. There is a bars back comprised of a red print alternating with an off white cotton. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author. In overall good condition minor spots and/or discolorations, please see the photographs for imperfections.
