Description
19th Century Jacket and Blouse. The group includes 1, antique 19th century children’s jacket and 1 Edwardian cotton blouse. The childrens jacket features a shell made from possibly doe skin or kid skin, a high round neckline, 5 ivory chambray covered buttons, and decorative flossing at the top of the front darts. It is unlined and edged in ivory wool braid tape. Laying flat it measures: shoulders 13”, chest 14.5”, waist 12.5”, sleeves 17 1/4” . Upon closer inspection the buttons appear to be replacements as the button holes are larger than the current buttons. It is in fair condition with general signs of age and wear, wear to the wool braid trim, and several, small holes throughout. Also included is 1 antique late 19th/early 20th century fine cotton blouse featuring a wide square collar with cut and draw work, and Irish crochet lace trim. An inset with cut and draw work, long sleeves with cuffs trimmed in a crocheted edge with small mother of pearl button closures. Vertical pick up detailing and front button closures and a twilled cotton tape waist tie. Laying flat it measures: shoulders: 16”, bust: 19”, waist: 16”, sleeves 20.5”. It is in fair condition with heavy toning throughout and a few spots. Please see the photos for details and condition. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
