Description
Pair of Late 19th Century Black Beaded Bodices. The group includes 2 late 19th century beaded black bodices featuring 1 black silk bodice with 2 tapered vertical inserts of black net beaded with black glass bugle beads in a flower and leaf pattern with circular beaded accents at the collar. As well as machine made Chantilly lace trim at the collar , waist, and cuffs and a ruched yolk. it is lined in brown chintz with black with flexible stays and an internal belt. Laying flat it measures: bust 16.5”, waist 12”, sleeves 21.5”. It is in fair condition with small holes, fading to the net beaded overlays, loose beading, and a split seam at the upper back. It appears there may have been trim on the cuffs which are missing. 1 black silk bodice featuring black glass beaded trim down the front and on the cuffs with pleated apricot/gold color shifting silk front panels and a match ruffle at the collar. As well as a black silk wrap around collar with a back facing bow and a black silk waistband with hook and eye closures down the front. It is lined in a floral printed cotton with stays and a hook for attaching a skirt. Laying flat it measures: bust: 17”, waist: 15”, sleeves 21”. It is in fair condition with fading to the beaded trim, and heavy wear to the black silk waistband. Please see the photos. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
