Description
Late 19th Century Winter Bodice and Morning Wrapper Top. The pairing includes 1 late 19th century wool plaid bodice and 1 velvet morning wrapper. Featuring 1 winter bodice in a colorful wool plaid in shades of blue, green, red, and black. As well as burgundy velvet yolk and fold over collar trimmed in metallic gimp braid with tabs at the collar. It is lined in tan chintz with pastel apricot stays and hook and eye closures down the front. Laying flat it measures: bust: 17”, waist 12”, sleeve 24.5”. It is in good/fair condition with several holes throughout and tarnishing to the metallic trim. Also included is 1 later 19th century green velvet morning wrapper top with a bib style collar and pleated front panels. The long sleeves have a metallic gimp braid trim at the cuffs, the waist has a hollow seam for an internal waist tie which is currently missing. It has an internal shell of tan chintz with no stays and hook and eye closures down the front. Laying flat the top measures: bust: 14.5”, waist 12”, sleeves 21.5”. It is in good/fair condition with staining to the underarms, spots, discolorations at the back, tarnish to the metallic trim, and 1 torn seam at the back. Please see the Photos.
