Description
Antique c1890 Broken Dishes Quilt from Roger Chadd of McPherson, KS. It measures 63×83″. Comprised of 1050 Half Square Triangle blocks, 2 by 2 inches, set straight, 30 by 35. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a shirting fabric applied binding. It is in good condition with just a few small discolorations. The quilt is very organized with color placement creating diagonal parallel lines. Fabrics include claret, indigo, neon, mourning prints, shirtings, Garibaldi reds, all your typical late 19th century prints. From an Alexandria, VA collector.
