Description
Vintage c1940 Double Wedding Ring with the arcs constructed with a variety of Stripe fabrics. It measures 70×84″. Comprised of 20 interlocking rings, 21″ in diameter. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. This cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. Edge is finished with a narrow appliqued green solid binding. In good condition with very small spots and minor edge wear. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. This quilt can be seen on page 22 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
