Group of 6 Mini Contemporary Art Quilts. The group includes 6 contemporary art quilts from the collection of Bobbie Aug. Featuring 1 small machine embroidered wall hanging with 2 quilting blue birds and the phrase “Quilting with friends will keep you in stitches” on a neutral cotton ground. As well a green floral cotton backing brought to the front to finish the edge. It measures 7” x 8” and has a matching sleeve for hanging. In good condition. 1 small art quilt featuring a hand pieced and hand quilted mountain scene in a mix of batiks, floral, and striped cottons. It measures 8.5” x 10” and has a matching sleeve for hanging. In good condition. 1 small art friendship quilt made by Gwen Oberg for Bobbie Aug and featuring hand embroidery, beading, appliques, machine embroidered patched, and both matching and hand sewing. It measures 12” x 10” and is in good condition. Please see the photos for details. 1 small art quilt featuring a tea cup theme in black and white made to celebrate 30 years of the P.P.Q.G., November 19, 2014. It is matching pieced and quilted with hand embroidered accents. It measures 10.5” x 12.5” and is in good condition. 1 Folk Garden Rose Tree art quilt made by Sue Nickels in Ann Arbor, MI in 1999. It is mainly made in primary colored printed cottons and is machine pieced and quilted and measures 16 3/4” x 16 3/4” has an attached sleeve for hanging. In good condition. 1 art quilt featuring a primitive country star and angel theme. It is hand pieced and machine quilted with a poly batting. It measures 12” x 16.5” long and has 2 attached plastic rings for hanging. As well as a paper label signed by Bobbie Aug. In good condition. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
