Group of 5 Antique Doll Quilts. The group includes 5 antique doll quilts from the collection of Bobby Aug. It features 1 antique c1915 9 Patch doll quilt with hand quilting and a knife edge finish with a stripped cotton flannel backing. It measures 14” by 19” and is in good/fair condition with fading and toning. It is featured on pg 170 of Vintage Quilts co-authored by Bobby Aug. 1 antique c1920 Baskets doll quilt featuring red and pink printed cottons on a plain white cotton ground. It is machine quilted with the front brought around to the back edge. It measures 13” x 13” and is in good/fair condition with toning. It is featured on pg 171 of VQ. 1 antique c1920 String Pieced King’s X doll quilt. With a variety of cotton prints and a claret print binding with hand quilting through each “string”. It measures 15” x 22” and is in good condition with a few frayed seams and several spots on the back. 1 pair of antique c1915 twin doll quilts. The 2 quilts feature a hand quilted X pattern in a mix of shirting cottons and a striped mourning print. They are backed in a brown cotton flannel with the back brought to the front to finish the edges. They are in good/fair condition with some spots, toning, and fading. They are featured on page 172 of VQ. . From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
